It's 3am and I am a little sleepy but not much and I certainly want to be...been up since 8am. Does Zoloft cause sleeplessness? I take mine at 8:30pm (to get over the nausea in the beginning). 100mg. Should I start it in the morning. Also if I start it in the morning should I just take another one in the am or half in the am and half at noonish?

I am taking Zolong (300 mg.). My doctor has me take all of it in the early am because he said it will keep you awake. I have had no problem sleeping. It's not so clear cut as that -- I'm on my 5th one, so far none of them have worked -- but I don't have any irreparable damage... I strongly urge you to take your medication in one go in the morning by about 7am. This will of course make you somewhat cloudy until about 11am...but, then the rest of the day is yours and you will be able to get to sleep of a night. The one thing that I have seen with Zoloft is that it hits you harder than the other drugs but doesn't leave you as frustrated. I'm on 200 mg of Zoloft, which I take at night. I think it definitely impacts your sleep pattern. For me, it reduced the amount of sleep I needed, which is a good thing since I was sleeping around 14 hours/day. I still don't have any problem getting to sleep.
