Question: For about a year I was taking Effexor at 300mg a day, recently I've cycling off it on to Wellbutrin, Effexor was losing its efficacy. The most obnoxious withdrawal symptoms are numbness and tingling in my extremities, and weirdly enough, especially my tongue.
Answer: This is interesting, because I was on Wellbutrin for a while, didn't work, so now I'm on Effexor. Wellbutrin was fine until we increased to dosage, then it made me extremely sick, mainly nausea. I've been doing good with effexor, until Saturday. My doc had miss-calculated how many I would have left until our next appointment. I couldn't get hold of him and was without med's for 48 hours. I felt so sick. My head was so light, my stomach was so sick, and on the second night I had delusions of a man in my house with a gun, I was so scared. After just taking one full day of the dose I was back to normal. Oh yes, the thing with Effexor is never NEVER skip more than maybe one dose, or you'll be sorry. That's the unfortunate part about Effexor. It's withdrawal syndrom sucks. If this ever happens again, just call the pharmacy and they will most likely give you (well, sell actually) enough pills to last until Monday. Most pharmacies will do this, especially if you only need 2 or 3 days worth of med's and there is likelihood of withdrawal.
