Question: My doctor sichiyastrist have tested many drugs for my, but my depression is very dificoult. Now hi rrecomended FLUVOXAMINE (DUMIROX in Spain). This drug I alreadi take many rears ago, and I have change for SSRIs more modern (paroxetine, PAXIL in EEUU. Someone know what commercial name is in EEUU?. Someone have take this medication?.
Answer: Fluvoxamine is marketed under the name 'Luvox' in the U.S. It's very similar to Prozac and the other long-acting SSRI's. Expect similar side effects, and withdrawal expectations. I've never taken it myself, as that particular branch of the SSRI family doesn't seem to work well for me. I've taken this medictation. It did little for my anxiety and depression. Prozac helped them significantly. I'm on Zoloft right now, and it's helping. In my experience reading and talking to people, Prozac and Zoloft are the two SSRIs that seem to have the best combo of fewer side effects and high effectiveness. But, different people respond to medications differently.
