Question: I know that some of you do not have ICQ, or cannot use JAVA chat, so I wanted to let you know that I have opened #The_Cub on IRC.
Answer: I just had a funny image of all the bipolars in depressive slumps fighting it out with those in manic phases - trying to support each other but frustrated with their own extremes. Maybe it would give them (or us, as I am currently diagnosed in the latest fad as Bipolar II) an opportunity to view others like them on the other side of the spectrum. I think a permanent bipolar IRC channel is a great idea. I regularly use another channel, and it's about time there was a bipolar one. The strength of the ASDM website should be sufficient rationale to justify a bipolar IRC channel. IRC is a great medium, simple to use and accessible to everyone, whatever 'puter platform. Count me in. Communication combined with instant gratification of sorts - it is indeed a wonderful forum. Whether you choose to expose yourself or not is your choice and on any given day, having the choice can be a form of freedom. On the other hand, the opportunity to discuss, laugh and know a variety of people is at your disposal.. Those of us that are shy or don't venture out often couldn't have found a better medium of expression.
