has anyone else experienced bad headaches while on celexa? When I first started taking it I experienced incredibly bad headaches during sex, but only at the point of orgasm. Big bummer. Thought I was having stroke, but after about a month headaches went completely away. now I have lost interest in sex altogether, but it seems like all the antidepressants that work have this side effect.

I've had 2 bad headaches during the 3 weeks I've taken Celexa. Normally I don't get headaches at all. I think this may have to do with the dehydrating side-effect though. My mouth has felt dry since I started on Celexa but now I'm trying to drink more water. Most people who get headaches get them from A: dehydration B: lack of sleep C: stress I've been gradually increasing my dose 5 mg per week, so I tend to be queesy the first day of the increase (I take my meds in the morning). Otherwise the advantages have been far greater than the disadvantages and I'm actually more interested in sex than before. (Before I was just too damn depressed to care). Any of the SSRI medications can provoke headache, especially when first begun or when the dosage is increased. Have you checked in with your doctor? You should. Sometimes, when the medication seems to be helpful, but provokes intolerable side effects, a lower dose, for a week or two, can help the body adapt and accomodate to the medication.
