if you think that you are having too many side effects, you should talk to your doctor. s/he may decrease your dosage and/or add something else to help. Effexor withdrawal... ran out of meds took 5 days to get the refill not only did I feel sick but I got very very irritable to the point of violence... Had I a violent personality I would hate to have seen what I would have done! Even the most casual of statements ellicted angry remarks. At home with the kids it was a continual stream of yelling! What happens when the doc decides to change the meds? I am afraid to find out.. but it will happen soon this effexor has too many negative side effects for me.... I'm taking Effexor myself...have been for about half a year, I guess. 450mg/day...which the doc says is 50mg above the maximum recommended dosage. My psychiatrist told me that "No matter what, do NOT stop taking the Effexor! It has the most devastating withdrawal symptoms of just about any medication out there. If and when we need to change, we'll have to taper you off slowly. But you don't do that without coming to me first!" I knew what he was talking about, since I went for a day and a half once without taking it...not on purpose. And wow...I was really getting edgy and kinda schizo!
