Anyone have clinical experiences with this anti-epileptic often used as an AD?

I take it for mood swings and depression (I'm not bipolar) and it helps a lot. No side effects for me at least. I'm bipolar with rapid cycling/mixed states, and no other meds have helped me yet, I've been doing the trial and error thing for two years now, but I am very interested in finding out anything I can about lamictal. I hear, it's the latest thing for rapid cyclers, which seems too good to be true for me. But I am holding on to the hope that if I try it, it will work. All I have read in a medical journal about Lamictal, is to be careful and use this drug with caution, because as your doc can tell you, it can cause a fatal skin disease where a rash begins, then you need to tell your psychdoc immediately to either stop it completely or lower the dosage and the rash might go away, as I've heard from lots of others on it. Try looking this topic of Lamictal up on the alt.support.depression.manic bulletin board, there is alot more info there on people who are using it now. But I know it can cause that fatal Steven Johnson's Syndrome. Is it really worth trying it then? Is it really safe? Please email me if you have any info on this drug.
