Question:
I'm on almost 2 weeks of 50 mg zoloft and haven't slept well at all. Headaches almost every day. Did anyone else have these symptoms and they went away later?

Answer:
I have been on Zoloft for over a year now. I had what I would describe as medium level of side effects in the first three- four weeks that went away completely including insomnia, dry mouth, nausea, and increased nervousness. They have all disappeared. The only side effect that remains is weight gain and constant hunger. Have gained 20 pounds and not leveled off. Stick with it for while longer if you can. The benefits are definitely worth it. I experienced the symptom of "not being able to sleep well", which fortunatly went away after a while. For some people, however, they have to take somthing to help them get to sleep. As for the headaches, my boyfriend has the opposite problem. If he stops taking zoloft, he gets a headache. If the symptoms dont get better (which they might) I would suggest talking to your pdoc and maybe trying somthing else. It is possible that you are feeling better mentally because you want to feel better not because of the meds. As it does take a while for them to begin to work. I had many symptoms while on Zoloft... Headaches, temors, loss of sleep, exsessive sweating, etc... If you do feel better mentally that is great wait out the 6 week stretch if things are still bad then....you might have to switch meds!
