Can anyone relate to alternating between depression and anger/agitation? I have a rage problem and a depression problem. I went up to 80 MG of paxil without much relief.

I don't know who your p-doc is but mine told me anything past 40mg was dangerous and a waste. He said he doesn't even like to go past 30mg but occasionally will increase a patients dosage to 40mg. He said if the patient wasn't responding to the meds at a lower dose then the meds were probably not the correct one for the patient. That is why he switched me...Some meds are suppose to be taken at a higher dose but I dont' believe Paxil is... I have heard about this and had similar feelings until I worked out what my problem was. I found it came from so much pent up stuff that I had been coping with over the years. The Prozac helped me to come to terms with myself so to speak but not without a lot of unsorted emotions being released at the same time. Is it possible for you to get some therapy? Group is what I am trying for but it is difficult as I live in Holland and have a small language barrier. Writing helped me also. Just writing everything down either in a group or to yourself. Address it to whoever you are writing it to but enjoy the fact that you ain't gonna send it and let rip. I found this helps alot. You feel a bit silly but hey who's watching? What you want to look out for is a harmless way to express those feelings that are now coming out as rage. In my best bedside manner...
