I've been on Zyprexa for about five months. It's great, but I've gained a lot of weight since I've been on it. It must be the Zyprexa since my sister started it at around the same time and we've gained the same amount. We're even showing the same piggy eating habits now.

I gained 22 lbs in the first 2 1/2 months. My pharmicist suggested drinking lots of ICE water when I got hungry, to numb the stomach. Seems to be working. Jon Blevins Dallas, Texas I lasted about 3 weeks. I could feel the ugly pounds piling on more and more each day, and my depression and suicidal thoughts had only gotten worse. So, I quit about 3 days ago and now I'm starting to feel "normal" again. That is, I'm still depressed and I still want to DIE, but, I'm no worse than I was before I started taking Zyprexa. I know it takes several weeks to become "aclimated" to meds -(this is the first one I've tried)-, but, I can't stand getting fatter & uglier than I already am! Isn't there any decent anti-depressant that will help me LOSE weight, or atleast not gain any, without making me flip out and become violent the way Effexor and other drugs did to my husband? After seeing what it did to him, I'm afraid of what it would do to me. Well, it seems that every last one of the antidepressants causes weight gain. But whatever you do, avoid Zoloft. That made me fat AND caused my hair to fall out! And after three weeks of it, I'm STILL FAT!
