how long did you try remeron before you gave up? as i tried it once before and fell a sleep too for too long 14 to 17 hours and still tired. but i went on to some others and then there was all sorts or sexual problems that i could not cope with, so i am trying remeron (zispin in the uk) again. my wife was prescribed Zispin (Mirtazapine) which is the same thing in September last year. Excellent result at first - it improved her appetite and generally she felt much better. Suddenly a week before Christmas she started feeling anxious about people and eating. This has now become a major (and I mean MAJOR) problem. At the weekend we were supposed to meet my sons future in-laws for the first time. When it came to leaving the house my wife just dissolved and I had to go alone. She described the feeling as being without any bones to hold her up and at the same time feeling empty. Her consultant has given her Thioridizine syrup to control the anxiety but this doesn't seem to work. The benefit is that she doesn't feel black and depressed. I've been taking Remeron for almost two years, and while it helps me to sleep at night (you take it at bedtime) my depression hasn't entirely lifted. My doc has "upped" the dose to 1.5 tablets, and I've decided that if I don't see any changes in my depression soon I'm going to switch meds (or doctors) lol.
