Has anyone had experience with this drug and is it in the same class as Prozac or does it work on a different part of the brain? Hubby takes a 75mg and had to work up to that over time. Isn't this an older medication too? I don't know much about it. It's day 3 and I feel like my old self except I still have cotton mouth.

I have been on 40mg of Prozac for several years. A couple of nights ago I had a killer migraine (not to alert) and went to take my 2 20mg pills and mistakenly picked up my husbands meds and downed 2 of his 75mg Pamalors. I realized it just after I swallowed them. I tried to throw them up but had no success. Anyhoo, what a god awful reaction I had to those, I woke up in the middle of the night with such intense cotton mouth I felt like my tongue was swollen, I was jumpy and irritable too. Has anyone had experience with this drug and is it in the same class as Prozac or does it work on a different part of the brain? Hubby takes a 75mg and had to work up to that over time. It is still very effective for many people. The newer AD's are SSRI's or something similar that work on selective reuptaked of certain neurotransmitters. fyi, if a finger down the throat doesn't work, try a glass of warm water with mustard and/or soya sauce. Mouthwash does the trick too. (No explanation of how I know how to throw up.) I think I would have called the poison control centre or a hospital and asked for some advice, like do I need my stomach pumped?
