I am currently on Paxil, and continue to have the pesky sexual side effects. From doing some research, Wellbutrin and Serzone seem to be recommended as alternatives because they have fewer if any sexual side effects. Can anyone confirm this for me? Also, anyone who has been on Paxil and switched to either Wellbutrin or Serzone, how was the transition?

I went from Prozac to Wellbutrin and my libido returned to 105%. Yeah, I actually noticed a slight increase. I just started the transition today -- my Paxil dosage of 40mg was halved while I start the WellbutrinSR, and havled again in a week. The doc said there's a chance the 2 might work together but not separately. She said if I experienced relief for a a period that went away after stopping the Paxil, I might try a lower dosage of Paxil with the WB-SR. This is hilarious! I was on Prozac 3 years ago and had horrid sexual side effects (usually I'd just give up and be embarassed about it). Then I was put on Serzone because I REFUSED to take anything that had sexual side effects - and I HATED it. Serzone made me a total zombie and actually brought on horrible anxiety attacks (I suffer from GAD as well as major depression). I also had this weird push-pull feeling inside my brain. So I begged the doc to switch me to anything, even something that had sexual side-effects. She gave me Paxil, which has worked wonders for the depression (but not the anxiety, as it's supposed to - so I'm still on benzos for that), but caused the "pesky" sexual side effects. I tried huge doses of gingko biloba - helped a bit but not much. My sex drive, previously very very healthy, was gone, I was impotent for a while, and I couldn't have an orgasm unless I really went at it strenuously (and when it did happen, it sucked, no pun intended).
