Elavil - tachycardia / anxiety attacks Prozac - worked great first time, not at all second time Trazadone - worked "OK" for a while, then quit Wellbutrin - serious over-stimulation / hallucinations / severe shakes Effexor - serious tinnitus / shakes / anorgasmia St. John's Wort - worked "OK" for a while, then quit Cytomel - did nothing Imipramine - taking 250mg./day and doing very little, if anything (slightly accelerated heart-rate) So, when does the medication merry-go-round end? Isn't there some way the shrinks can have a slight clue what might or might not work? This has really gotten extremely frustrating.
Answer:
My doctor told me it's like throwing darts at a dartboard. most people will find the right chemical to set things straight. But it sure is frustrating. Don't give up though, it is worth the wait to find the right pi. Ever tried stimulants (Ritalin, Cylert), or stimulants/antidepressive combination (It works for deep depression, when a fast relief is needed, and that people need to "function" in spite of all ? Ask your doctor. No, have not tried any stimulants. Being an ex- speed junkie, I'm a bit nervous about doing speed again on a daily basis. Would probably help, though - my main problem the last few years has been a lack of physical energy / sleeping way too much. I took Paxil and it worked great .I was on it for 1.5 yrs , but had a hell of a time coming off!! Terrible side effects of withdrawal!! If you had REAL clinical depression, you would have to go on something and stay there. I hear all this stuff from people who SAY they are/were depressed and meds dont help or meds are an artificial way to feel better. I have REAL depression...I physically feel sick. If I dont take meds, I am going to die at some point. Depression destroyed my academic/mental reasoning powers. Made me feel mentally retarded. I had to go on something to even function. I could not even find my way around town at one point. You dont have real depression, in my opinion. Maybe low grade, chronic depression but not severe, disabling clinical depression like I have
