What do you people use when you have a cold? My pharmasist said NOT to take Sudafed Cough and Cold.. had anyone here ever taken it anyhow along with the Paxil? My nose is sooooo clogged I would give just about anything to clear it a bit (considering a drug holiday to be able to take it!!!!!).

I can't give specific information because I didn't go to the doctor to ask him. I did go to ask 2 pharmasists what I could take and both said that I can't take a nasal decongestant. If I NEED to clear my nose that I could use a nasal spray but it wasn't reccommended. She said it would be best to use the spray 2-3 times a day. So, I gave up and figured that I may as well fight it out (it's day #4 with the sniffles) as it will come to and end. Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride 60mg: Nasal Decongestant Aceteminophen 500mg: Analgesic Dextromethorpan Hydrobromide 30mg: Antitussive So, it's the pseudoephedrine hydrochloride that we can't have while on Paxil? If they said don't take any nasal decongestant, I guess you should be careful. I thought it was a specific drug interaction that they were concerned about. There are new scientific findings this week pertaining to MAO inhibitors and OTC products with epinephrine. Seems epinephrine (a component of the Phenfin diet pill) when mixed with MAO inhibitors and/or SSRI's can cause the same heart valve problems they have been finding in Phenfin users. It is something you might want to seriously weigh the pros and cons of such a combination.
