I've been on Zoloft for 6 months (50 mg/day) from what started as post partum depression. My insurance company refuses to pay any part on it. However, they will pay for Prozac or Paxil. I'm thinking about calling my doctor up and see about switching to Paxil or Prozac (our insurance has a copay and would only cost $6 per month, compared to paying almost $70). Anyone have any suggestions?

Do you know why your insurance will pay for the others and not zoloft. I have no problem with them paying for mine. 50mg a day is not a very high dose. You may even be able to use something like st.johns wort, if your depression is not that bad. I am on 200mg a day, st.johns would have little effect on me. I too am a stay at home Mom and currently on 10mg of Paxil a day. Been on it for over a year. It does work well for me (I was worrying over my son's health so much I lost a LOT of sleep and a LOT of weight..also have a phobia of him throwing up..horrifying mental images occur when NOT on Paxil). If you have the opportunity to take Paxil, I would say to try it. I was going to try St. John's Wort but decided not to because that's not something covered by ins. I too pay little for the Paxil ($4CDN) per month. I have never had any occurances of agitation. But, the lack of orgasm has been frustrating at times. I have overcome it tho..I do believe it subsides somewhat after you've been on the Paxil for a while. But on a more positive note it has allowed my sex life with my husband to become more 'creative' to compensate it taking so long to climax.
