Can anybody suggest when to take their Zoloft...morning or night???? I've tried both....with mixed results. During the day, it can seem to really tire me out. But at night, it seems to keep me awake! Also, does this "myth" or "fact" that if you take Xanax with grapefruit juice delay it's apsorbtion, making it last longer in the body?? Does this also pertain to all other benzos???
Answer:
I take my Zoloft in the morning, with food to increase absorption. I've read a couple p-docs write that they have seen the best results from taking it in the morning, though, of course YMMV. No problem sleeping or anything. I was told last week by my counselor to take the Zoloft at night because of the effects of insomnia it can produce. I had been taking it at night and had the worse insomnia ever! I am up until around 300am every night, and when I do sleep it is a twilight sleep more than a real DEEP sleep... I havent started taking it at night yet... Too many problems going on to even remember to take it at all... Please let me know though which helps you... I would like to know!! As for the Xanax and grapefruit juice business, yes - I'm given to understand that grapefruit juice does indeed heighten its effect and that this applies to other benzos, too. If I'm wrong I'd be grateful if someone would clarify, as it's what I've been told, too.
