I have been taking Effexor for just over two years now and my dosage has fluctuated between 75mg to 225mg a day. I am currently taking two 75mg time-released capsules a day and I feel that this is alright. The time-release capusules are much better than the old ones. Anyway, my issue at hand is that before I began taking anti-depressants I experimented with quite a few psychoactive drugs, namely LSD, PCP, mushrooms and pot. I no longer have a deisre to do drugs (of the non-prescriptive kind ;P)and it's been a few years since I've indulged in any.

About all I can add is that the antidepressant Pamelor (sp) is an antagonist to psilocybin cubensis, e.g. a patient on Pamelor will not experience the hallucinogenic effects of 'shrooms ingested in "normal dosages." I am taking Effexor Xr 150 mg's a day and I have also been know to partake of other drugs in the past. Now being older, I only smoke on weekends and I have not experienced the effects that you did, I just get sleepy. Maybe the pot was laced with something? I was on effexor for a while had to get off it because it was keeping me up and then I was a nervous wreck. I am now on prozac not any better but only been on it two weeks still having trouble sleeping After two months on Effexor, now on Serzone about two weeks, I'm also having problems sleeping. I even take both doses at night, heard that it is suppose to help you sleep, but nothing yet. Think the Effexor takes longer to get out of your system than the drug company says it does.
