I have a similar fear that makes me panic and generally out of sorts. I am deathly afraid of getting sick with the flu. I can trace this back to November 28, 1997, when I got sick with a flu that kept me down for two weeks straight. Several times during that flu I thought I was going to die. From that point in my life I have not been the same person. I too was put on Ativan to begin with, and that helped and then my doctor decided that I needed more than that as I was still having panic attacks regularly and bothering him with every little symptom I had. So my the Psychologist that the doctor sent me to "officially" diagnosed me as having panic disorder and deep depression. Now I am on a replacement for Ativan, Klonopin and am also taking an antidepressant called Paxil. But I understand what you are talking about when it comes to fears that trigger your panic. I am not out of the woods yet myself and at this point am unable to help you understand this anymore. But I do want to say that I know what you are going through and I believe your going to make it through all of this and come out a better person for all of it. I went to see a psyciatrist today, and she said that will therapy, only for a short while, i should be okay. since my panic attacks are generally based around the weather, it should be easy to find an acceptable "cure" for it. my husband has also been getting up with my children the last week and it seems you are right, i have been feeling a little better. Even went to the doctors today even though it was raining. (my uncle drove me)
