Paxil made things better but not great, I have just been switched to Wellbutrin. What can I expect. I am new at this so I do not understand the initials of drugs and classes. I can't remember when I wasn't depressed.

Wellbutrin seems to be extremely good for me.I take it in conjuction with prozac.... No side effects that I know of only a much leveler mood... and hey I have less of an appetite.... kill two birds with one stone.... Now when I first started taking it I had this terrible caged in feeling.... that was strange.... and hard to get used to... like my mind was put in a cage and I couldn't reach out of it.... now there is an image for you.... After months of other medications I was placed on Wellbutrin. Within 24 hours I was no longer sleeping all the time. I take it daily along with other medications. I found no side effects that are unpleasant. The longer I take it the more I become a normal functioning person . I notice a big difference in my eating habits, encludeing a decrease in craveings for candy or sweets. I can do things again that was once difficult for me. I hope you do well to. I have dealt with depression for so long it is hard to know what normal feels like. I have been taking Welbutrin for over two years (before that I had been on paxil for about 3 years). Welbutrin has worked well for me, it makes my moods more level. One important thing to remember is that it is not a miracle drug or a cure, it is not going to take away the depression but only make it more managable. I still experience lows every once and a while but they are not as severe as they were before I was put on medication and they pass.
