I was recently taken off Zoloft after 5 years of success (100mg.). I began to get depressed again and my doc put me on serzone. I had withdrawals so severe in the past week of abstaining from ZOLOFT that I couldn't function. The only thing I can compare it to is what I saw a close friend go through when coming off Heroin.

I've had dizziness, tremors, nausea, sever stomach pains, vertigo, weakness-you name it. I decided to go back on Zoloft today and am feeling better already. My concern is that Pfizer and doctors I've spoken with claim there shouldn't be any withdrawals and basically that it's either all in my head or some physical ailment. Well, I'm living proof this drug is murder to get off of. I have tried reducing dosages in the past and had the same effects. I went off Zoloft after a year and a half and had very strange feelings as it was leaving my system, but I get that way whenever I have gone off similar drugs. I had a re-lapse and now I am on Luvox at a higher dose and it's working better for me than Zoloft in a lot of ways, but I have different side effects. It's almost impossible to get up in the morning, it's almost like I'm drugged or something (no pun intended) but after an hour or so I'm ok. But no "withdrawal" symptoms (so to speak) like you described. I read a post where a DR said he prescribes 1 week of prozac for people on zoloft or paxil because prozac has such a long half life (like 5 weeks) I am currently trying to switch from paxil to serzone, but man I have felt horrible all week!! Like a combinations of being drunk and having waaayyyyyy to much coffee. I feel like a zombie in the am. anyway , the next time you try to get off the drugs try asking your doc to give you a week of prozac samples.
