Several years ago I was taking Prozac and found the drug to be highly effective in helping me deal with my depression/anxiety. Unfortunately, I moved to take a new job, and never hooked up with a doctor in my new area. Accordingly, I let my Prozac prescription run out (at the time, life felt good and I thought that I did not need the drug any more).
Answer:
Sure you can go to a psychiatrist and just tell him what you said here and he'll give you a prescription. Hell, you could tell a general practioner and he would give you one, my grandmother got it from one. It's wiser to go to a psychiatrist though since they're the specialists on this topic even though their shitbags, but they can better help you if you have to switch to another drug or raise the dosage. You don't need any therapy(talk therapy that is) unless you want it. Some say you should go to therapy because it will help you even more combined with the Prozac but it depends on how good the therapist is, alot of them are bad, and it also depends if you have to pay for it out of your own pocket and have enough to do so, that can be a major factor, you have to decide whether it's worth it. In my opinion if the the Prozac helps you, you only really need therapy if you have had many bad years of depression/anxiety that really affected you where it caused alot of pain and you still might hold remnants of resentment or other things like that. I would call my ex doctor and explain the situation to him or her. Most likely they can call a pharmacy near you and transfer your prescription atleast temporarily. If that is not possible maybe they can transfer your medical history to a new doctor near you. It seems unlikely that you would need more therapy unless you feel the need.
