Anyone know of dangers of taking Lorazepam for anxiety? Seems to work quickly but feel depression after effects wear off.

Don't know of any 'dangers' to the drug. There are, like any other drug, possible side effects. I'm not on Lorazepam now, but was on it for 3 1/2 years. Found it worked well for me. Biggest side effect was constipation. I was normally able to control that through high fibre diet and daily Metamucil. When that didn't do the job, I'd resort to an occasional soapy enema for fast relief. Altogeter I was on 3 different Tricyclate antidepressants and for me, Lorazepam was the best. Hope it works well for you. Oh, by the way....your comment regarding effect wearing off.....Don't know your dosage but I'd let my P-doc know and he/she may be able to either increase dosage or prescribe the same total dosage but spread out through the day. No danger, I have been taking 3mg per day for 6-months and it works great for anxiety. The only danger is stopping taking it abruptly. The dose must be tapered over 2-3 weeks.
