I'd like to hear everyone's experience on Remeron. Is it similar to Effexor? Have heard some bad things about Effexor, especially withdrawal.

I've taken Remeron for a few month and wanted to eat very much. So I ate a lot off chocolate and that kind of stuf and weigthed a copple of pounds more after using the Remeron. But I was very skinny before so that didn't matter that much. I am taking Remeron but I can not tell a difference. I take this along with Celexa. Who knows what the hell is going on. I feel no different. On top of that I also take Klonopin. This has been going on for 5 wks now and still no better. My thoughts on Remeron I had a negative experience with Remeron although most of the feedback on the Panic and Depression websites is positive. I had a near psychotic episode and had to go off of it at three days. I was climbing the walls, crying all the time, and had auditory hallucinations. I never want to experience anything like it again. I've had a very positive experience with Remeron, after a long string of side effects on other anti-depressants (Prozac, Paxil, Wellbutrin, Effexor and Serzone). It's literally been a life-saver, with no side effects except increased appetite at my initial dose, 15 mg. Since going up to 45 mg, that side effect has disappeared. I take it at night and have no problem going to sleep. I've heard my experience is atypical because others complain of side effects with it. It just goes to show that you should keep trying until you find one that works.
