I'm an OCD suffer who suffer's from unwanted distructive thoughts (Unwarented thoughts of harming people and thoughts that I have always done somthing impendingly bad in the past). My doctor suggested that I go on Prozac because the meds that I was on (Zoloft) wer'nt working as well as they could. I felt that Zoloft was a great med for anti-depression but didnt work so well at dealing with OCD, anyway back to the Prozac. I have been given a sampple pack of Prozac and have been breaking the tables in halfs (like instructed) for about 4 days now.

Out of all the anti depressants on the market now, ive heard of more people having problems with Prozac than the others. A few years ago i had taken a small dosage of it for about 4 days and perhaps i had an 'allergic' reaction but i basically went through hell. I was shaking, had no appetite, couldnt sleep, felt very aggressive and my thoughts were off the planet. My dr has diagnosed me as having mild OCD, so looking back before the diagnosis i think Prozac made the ocd part of my problems worse. I have since been on a med called Cipramil mainly to treat the ocd and found it to be very effective, im in Australia so im not sure if its called the same thing in the Us etc, the other name on the package is Citalopram. i would give it a go if you can get it but on the other hand medications all work differently with different people and maybe i just had bad luck with Prozac I'm diagnosed Manic-Depressive & was on Prozac briefly. I thought it was great at first, really lifted a terrible depression, but two weeks later I was in shitsville again. It apparently has this effect on some people, my psychiatrist said. They respond well at first then - nothing. I tried a few more including Lofepramine (which was about the best and tasted real nice too) but eventually decided to go it alone.
