I have been taking Effexor (150 mg) for 18 months, recently added Trazodone to combat insomnia. The combination gave me panic attacks and other side effects. I'm now using Xanax to help me get off the other meds. Has anyone had experience with withdrawl? I'm nauseated, lightheaded, dizzy - is this the Xanax or the withdrawl?
Answer:
Effexor made me feel really weird, like I was separated from myself. It is hard to explain. I had to stop because it caused an incredible aching in my joints. I was only on it for about 6 weeks and the withdrawal was terrible - nausea, dizziness, nightmares.... So I would say it is not the xanax. I also remember reading at the time about a lot of people who were having an extremely hard time coming off the effexor. Some thought it should be considered addictive and/or a withdrawal syndrome should be listed with the company monograph. I have had the same withdrawal symptoms...nightmares,dizziness,etc.. It's been 4 days know and it's getting better..
