I've been on Zoloft for 3 1/2 weeks. I'm now taking 100mg in the morning, but last Friday I was instructed to increase to 150mg of Zoloft (i haven't done so). They're concerned about my suicidal thoughts, and although that was a possibility a few weeks ago, i dealing with life much better now.

I am on Zoloft 100 mg in the am and 100 mg at night. At first I had to take something to sleep, but after a while I just started making myself stick to a schedule. No naps, and Have been doing fine. Sure I feel tired sometimes but I don't seem to need as much rest. I was on Prozac for a while but that made my mind cloudy and the Zoloft makes it clear and I can now write and draw again (something I have not been able to do for a long time). I was just taken off of Zoloft yesterday after 2 weeks due to increased anxiety. Rare side effect he said. Started Serzone last night. I have also been taking Trazodone for sleep. Works great for me. I haven't slept so well in years. It's an anti-depressant that also causes drowsiness. I take 100 mg an hour before bedtime. He said I may be able to take less with the Serzone. I read that the normal dose for Z is 50-200 mg. so you are in the normal range. We all react differently to meds and the doc needs to find the right dose for you. Just my opinion, but I would do what he advises and definitely tell him about your sleep difficulties. I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my post. Today i took the full prescribed dose and i feel great. I told the doctor that i wanted Trazodone and he is mailing a prescription. Boy, was he surprised that i even heard of it! Did i hear a little bit of respect in his voice? I have been taking zoloft for about 6 years. I intially took 100 mg a day, but after a breakup with a nasty girlfriend, my medicine doubled (yes, I'm still taking 200 mg a day). I've had problems sleeping for ages, but it's not because of the zoloft... anxiety problems also. Want to sell some of that pep? I still have chronic fatigue... Jim
