I've recently stopped Prozac (20 mg/day) and started hypericum (900 mg/day). Has anyone had a similar experience? I've noticed a bit of irritability creeping back in and some (milder) forms of depressive thinking. It's been two weeks now and I've just noticed the symptoms. Previously, at one week off Prozac with nothing else I noticed more severe forms of the same symptoms. Anyone?

I had been off Prozac for more than 6 months before beginning hypericum two months ago, so my experience is different. But I do think it took longer for the hypericum to reach therapeutic levels than it had the Prozac. With Prozac I'd noticed an improvement almost immediately, although it was about 3 weeks before it was a drastic improvement. With hypericum, it took about 2 weeks before I felt even a mild improvment, it was more than a month before I felt really "normal" again, and it was a much more gradual improvement than I'd noticed with the Prozac. But I see this as a totally good thing. 'Cause with the Prozac, I got lots of other changes along with the improvements in depressive symptoms. But with the hypericum, all I got was the improvement in depressive symptoms.
