So is this the key? I'm just wondering if anyone else has ever observed this common trait of the "antidotes" and the "dysfunction-free" (ie. Serzone, WB) meds. I'm no psychopharmacologist but I do a lot of research and this is what I've come up with.
Answer:
The sex thing is thought to be a serotonin-mediated effect. However, Serzone and Remeron may, by blocking certain types of serotonin receptors (type 2's), minimize it. More than one way to skin a cat. taken without delayed or absent orgasm. Even Serzone created some problems for me despite the fact that it supposedly does not cause sexual side effects. Not only that, but I have had the same side effect with reboxetine (Edronax in UK) which is supposedly a NARI, thus refuting the serotonin-mediated theory. If anyone knows any antidotes for sexual side effects produced by reboxetine, I would love to hear about it. I was having minimal side effects and it seemed to cover my depressive symptoms moderately well. Why don't I take Wellbutrin? Unfortunately, it no longer works for me. What a pity.
