If a psychotic who takes their meds takes up meditation as a supplement to the drug treatments benefit from it? Are there harmful effects from meditation for the mentally ill?

Mental illness runs in my family very strongly. We are people of faith, who try to do good, but we still suffer. My father was blessed to heal his bipolar with the use of apple cider vinegar. He decided after 25 years in and out of mental wards, to study the brain. He concluded that his liver must not produce the enzymes needed to break down the protein he was eating so it could get to his brain. Raw apple cider vinegar is cheap, and it has natural enzymes. It you put 1 tablespoon of it in warm water with 1T of honey, 8 oz. of water and drink it before you eat, it helps your body break down the protein. He was healed for the last 15 years of his life. He finally got a doctor to prescribe enzyme capsules they give to liver patients, and he took those instead the last 5 years. He was so thankful, he tried to tell all the doctors, and they just laughed at him. I have suffered with anxiety and depression for 20 years. Off and on, I was suicidal last year for 6 months. I have 5 kids, and beliefs that prevented me from doing it, but it was hell. I started running, and that helped a lot, but i didn't feel joy again, until i started taking Costco vitamins. They are Kirkland brand multi vitamin packs. They come in a green box for only 15.00. I take them 3 times a week, and was able to slowly get off all my drugs. I had been on huge doses of Lexapro and Mirtazipine. I am now drug free and feel happier than I ever have. I did have to start casting out all the negative lies that would come in my mind. I lilterally had to battle them and win. Dont' listen to the lies, you are wonderful, capable, and have unimaginable potential. Dont believe anything less. You will get better. Side effects from MEDITATION? Highly doubtful...unless of course one becomes so obsessed with meditating and begins to neglect taking care of themselves. Meditation and/or any faith practices can do only POSITIVE for ones mental health in my humble opinion.
