I'm a 36 year old man. I suffer from a mild case of depression. Serzone wasn't helping, neither was St. John's Wort. My Dr. gave me a prescription for Paxil. After a week of taking it, however, I have had difficulty in ejaculating, and when I am finally able to achieve it, it seems to be less pleasurable.

This is a VERY typical side effect of all SSRIs. Ask your doctor for advice. Sometimes yohimbine taken an hour or so before intercourse helps. I found that it improved my ability to ejaculate, but did not improve the degree of pleasure. Plus, I had a feverish reaction a few hours later. Wellbutrin may not give the same symptoms, but I found that it interfered with getting an erection when taken in large enough doses to have an antidepressant effect. I am currently a combination of half the minimal effective dose (for me) of Prozac and 150 mg/day of Wellbutrin. It has improved things in the sexual area, but the quality of the sensations is still not back to normal. I am now thinking about taking St. John's Wort and less Prozac. Everybody reacts differently, so you will have to try different things and see what works. There may not be any solution that is an effective antidepressant and allows completely normal sexual function. BTW, I think there may be a difference between Yohimbe and yohimbine. The first is an over-the-counter extract, and the latter is a purified drug available by prescription. In my case, the sexual problems were the result of the medication, not the depression. Before I started on the meds, I did not have that problem, even though I was depressed.
