you have a sexual identity issue? Why not resolve that issue before taking up other issues?
Answer:
Doctors are taking the effect of psychiatric drugs too lightly, especially the effects of withdrawal-- possibly they are encouraged by the cavalier attitude of the drug companies. Mental illness used to be a serious condition before this marketing ploy, and economic advantage of treating patients as if they need little care. Lets not overreact to this horrible incident and assume ALL people who take meds would act the same way this guy acted. Very few people who take meds would react as he did just cause they went off their meds. In other words, he is the exception to the rule. Its guys like this Kazmierczak that give all mentally ill people a bad name. Ive gone off my meds plenty of times in the past, on my own and never reacted that way and my shrink didnt care either. We have individual freedom in the USA. If you give too much attention to rare incidents like this, you fuel the forced medication advocates claim that we should be injecting depot haldol into every other mental patient that walks in the psychiatrist's door. I didn't say ALL people react that way, but they do react in some negative way, from suicide, to violence, to seizures... it's never good if not tapered slowly. Furthermore, current psychiatric surveillance is cavalier due to pharmacological greed and advertising and the hypocritical propaganda that mental illness is somehow common or not so serioius. My psychiatrist supervises me well. Maybe in Canada, with socialized medicine you have minimal contact with a psychiatrist, I don't know I'm speculating. Ive heard many bad things about Canada's health care system. I'm saying don't lump all med users with this dude that caused the violence at that school. Proud National Rifle Association member her who also takes meds...
