Just wondered if this is something that I need to work through - sort of like my brain getting used to the new dose or something?
Answer:
Started on 75Mg of effexor about 5 weeks ago. To be honest, I had very few side effects and, after a week or two, I thought I felt a little better to be honest. Not great by any means but there were some good signs... After 4 weeks, went to see my doc again, and he suggested raising the dose to 150mg because 75mg was pretty low. Anyway, been taking that for a week. Trouble is the last few days I feel worse. Really agitated, panicky, and anxious. Trust me. You don't want to start on any of those meds. Your life will become far worse. And once you start, there's no turning back. Get your diet evaluated by a nutritionist. You're either not eating the right things, or you're not getting the right nutrients from the food you eat. You can safely ignore anything written by "George Orwell," "Anonymous Sender," and "Borked Pseudo Male." He's nothing but a common internet troll. The anxiety and agitation you're experiencing are common with increases in Effexor. For example, I take 225 mg/day and feel fine, but when I go up to 300 mg, I get the same effect you're experiencing. This is just a side-effect, and will eventually go away. The question is whether you can tolerate the feeling until that happens. Talk with you pdoc, and see if he can prescribe something to help you feel better in the short term, until your body adjusts.
