Does anybody out there want to discuss medications?

Sure do.I have been on Prozac for about 18 months, and it helped me for about half of that time. After a couple of dosage adjustments (up) over a period of six months, my Doc and I decided to switch to Zoloft. I did that three days ago. I'd be interested to hear from anyone else that has switched SSRI's about their experiences. Personally, I had NO side effects whatsoever from Prozac. It did take the edge off my depression for a while, but then it was as if it had no effect at all. I'm hoping that Zoloft will be helpful, even if only for a while. I'd love to read other experiences with medications. I have been taking Effexor for about 21/2 years. I experienced some nausea at first. After about 6 months my labido actually got better! It wasn't great before medication so I can't really say that the Effexor adversly affected this in the begining. I also take amytryptaline. The combination of an anti-depressant and amytrypataline have showed promising effects in treatment of fibromyalgia, which I recently added to my arsinal of diagnosis! This combination has wreeked havoc on my weight. I have gained about 35-40 lbs! I'm sure, as has been mentioned before, this is due to an increased appetite for sugars and carbohydrates. I'd love to here more about other experiences out there. The doubling of zoloft after 2 week really was not that sudden because I was on Prozac for a while and took less and less of that before starting the zoloft. I started at 50 mg and now am at 100. I see my pdoc in a week or so and he will most likely up it soon after that. I'm interested in hearing how it goes for you. I'm coming up on my 2nd week of Zoloft at 50mg (after a year of Prozac at 20 mg, then six months at 40). So far no change, but I'm cautiously optimistic. I've got so many other changes and stresses going on in my life right now, it's hard to tell WHAT I'm feeling. Just keep on pluggin, I guess.
