I switched from 30MG PAXIL to 30MG REMERON 12 days ago. Since then I have gained 15 pounds. I crave food all the time. Two days ago I noticed slight swelling in my ankles. Yesterday, my ankles were swollen to the max. They looked like a tic bloated to the max. Today, myu legs, arms, and chest have joined in and swollen up. I look like the kid in the christmas mmovie whose mother dressed him in so many clothes that he could only stand there with his arms outstretched. Is this an allergic reaction to REMERON? Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? Additionally, I have also experienced the vivid dreams and dry mouth. On the plus side (no pun intended), this is the best I've felt in the 90's. Maybe this is the best I have ever felt. Also, on PAXIL, I was drowsy all day, couldn't sleep at all and still couldn't get out of bed. Not only was I severely depressed, now I was a severely depressed doped up zombie who couldn't get out of bed. It finally cost me my job. REMERON raised my sirits immediately. I believe it has "cured" my depression. Also, I could feel refreshed after 5-6 hours of sleep and had no desire to stay in bed. Unfortunately, due to this water retention situation, my Dr has taken me off all meds as of today. Tommorow should prove interesting providing I can move my arms and legs. I've read a lot about blowing up on R, but haven't had it that bad. I take 60 mg a day. The vivid dreams were really cool. I learned a lot about myself through them. I do a lot of dream work in my therapy. The dreams are less vivid now, or just not as memorable. The desire to eat lessened after a while for me too, as did the dry mouth. Shitty side effect for such an effective (at least for me) AD. It took me about 3 months to really adjust to the side effects, I hope it's not too bad getting off. Let me know if you don't mind. I also take Buspar, don't know if that helps with the weight or not. I guess I did gain about 12 pounds, but I'd lost 10 being depressed.
