Effexor Vs. Effexor XR -- Help!

I'm on 150 mg of Effexor XR and if I am even 5 hours late in taking my daily dose, I get this weird nauseated feeling. Is this all in my head, or has anyone else felt that the regular Effexor works better than the Effexor XR?

I am on the same too..but only 75mg's a day. Now, from what I understand, even in the "XR" formula, if you are late with taking it (even by a few hours), it may effect you. Thats because Effexor just naturally leaves your body VERY fast. I understand the XR (from what I've read in the drug monographs and research), just barely covers the 24 hour period. So, I would stick by the EXACT as possible per day doses. Effexor XR comes in capsules, but Effexor comes in 5 sides tablets (like aspirin). Effexor XR stands for Extended Release, and you only have to take it one time a day, but with regular Effexor you usually have to take one tablet twice daily. if it's all in your head, then I'm really worried because *I* feel it, too! :o) Actually, I don't think I've noticed it after 5 hours, but certainly after half a day or more, I can feel it...very edgy to say the least. Effexor, from what my pdoc tells me, has the most violent withdrawal symptoms on the market. It's OK to take (as far as I know or am concerned) but you have to wean off of it very gradually. Never NEVER quit taking it cold turkey! I just missed a half a day myself and started feeling dizzy and naussious. I called my doctor and asked him if I should take it now or wait 'til tomooroe and he said now would be fine and go back on schedule tomorrow. He said that the withdrawals start pretty quickly. So hang in there. You're not alone. How long have you been on Effexor?
