I am currently back on Fluvoxamine (Luvox) for despression after having a pretty nasty relapse. I am back to normal now but an old problem has reoccured.
Answer:
Some time ago, I was diagnosed with Cholitis (altough they said it might be Chron's) but a couple weeks of medication made it go away until it ever decided to flare up again (usually about 2 years later). Every time I start taking Luvox, though, the same effects of Cholitis become very apparent again. I was wondering if anyone is in the same boat or has had similar side effects with Luvox. I am trying to figure out if its a new side effect of Luvox or if its just irrtating my digestive system enough to make my cholitis flare up. When I first got off Luvox (after about a year), the side effects eventually deteriated but they're back in full force again. Having been on Luvox for over two years, I think there is a connection between this drug and a gastrointestinal problem. Sorry I cannot word it more tactfully, but the drug seems to cause mild diarrhea. I do no have colitis. Same here. I've been taking Luvox for over a year and q half at the full dosage, (300 mg) and usually am consistent in that area. It may not help you, but I find that a small container of yogurt on a daily basis seems to stem that problem. When that fails, there's Imodium.
