How the fu_k do I get off Cymbalta? I've switched to Lamictal because I don't want the side effects of the SNRI's but I feel lousy. Transient dizzy spells and electric shock like feelings. Anyone have any idea's? I had my doc write me a script for Prozac and that helped alot. I can't speak for anyone else, but ask your doctor, most docs are aware now of the difficulty getting off SNRIs and those awful zaps in your head and they're willing to help you. The way to get off SNRIs is *slowly*. You need to taper down gradually, over a period of weeks. Switching to an SSRI may help, but for many, is not enough, and tapering is still required. that shit almost killed me. I never felt so badly in all my life as when I was going off that crap. Almost shot myself because of that stuff. Should be illegal IMHO. As Nom said, SLOWLY. Get a family member to help monitor your behavior and mental state. If you get to feeling too bad get some help. Go into a detox program if you need. Just don't try to do it too quickly or alone.
