I wish I was dead when I get these bouts of nausea. I take Effexor and Lithium and I am wondering if the interaction is doing this to me. I am flat on my back with nausea and yet I never throw up. My doctor has no clues and fell asleep our last session since she is a resident and overworked. Please help me with your comments and experiences if you have any that are relevant!

I guess throwing up on her while she sleeps is not an option? Damn! Tell your doctor to make a change, either lower the dose or stop them. Medications are not intended to disable you and there are other meds available if the side effects are not tolerable. Just this morning my mother-in-law phoned to let me know she has just started taking Effexor . She said she is experiencing nausea, dizziness and headackes. The only thing I sujected was take some tranx. to eleviate some of the symtoms, I'll have to find out if it is working for her. Have you been taking Effexor very long? If so, what were the symtoms at the beginning. I'm not sure from your post if you were on Lithium first? I was on Effexor for approx 6 months. My doctor took me off it a couple of weeks ago due to the amount of weight I gained. I gradually decreased the dose from 225mg to 37.5 which I stopped two days ago. During the time I was on Effexor, I didn't have any symptoms of dizziness or nausea. When I stopped taking the med I have teriible bouts of nausea. I hope this is a side effect of coming off the med and not a more serious problem. Has anyone experienced this when coming off Effexor?
