If anyone wants to spew this St. John's Wort stuff to the ng, you should put some kind of disclaimer in it as I do saying that I AM NOT A DOCTOR and not qualified to say anything except my OPINION. Because if someone took SJW in lieu of going to a qualified professional and ended up hurting themselves as a result...what good would that do.

My opinion is that we must be educated about our health because many if not most doctors are not. I prefer to be knowledgable enough to talk intelligently with my doctor, often to my doctor's surprise and pleasure, rather than depend upon them totally. Doctors don't always offer all the information because we as patients don't request that information. I prefer to be able to express the need to know this information rather than guess. I also find that my doctor prefers a discussion with me rather than just lecturing me. I also think I get better treatment because of this. I found that while Prozac helped me in some ways it made me worse in others. I was far more irritable on Prozac than ever before and the side effects were terrible. But this is me not you and not everyone else. SSRI's and MAOI's are two different animals. Veruca was quite eloquent in her explanation. Mr. Cooper...where do you think she was wrong? If you stand on that position, I invite you to take a regimen of Nardil for thirty days or so and go to your favorite Italian resturant. Order a big cheese pizza and a bottle of Chianti. I'll sit back and take bets on which blood vessel is going to bust in your brain first. These are FACTS, not speculation...clinical facts that are printed on the actual product literature and in the PDR.
