Does anyone else have this experience? Don't know what to do except report this to the urologist and see if he can augment the Flomax with something else.
Answer:
I've been taking Celexa for about 2 months with pretty good results, but I do find that I have to get up several times during the night to urinate. This has been a problem for me in the past and I'm being treated for this condition but a urologist who has me on Flomax for about 6 weeks now. Urologist asked me if I thought the Flomax was working, but I said I couldn't really tell because I suspected the Celexa may be interfering. Anyway, I stopped the Celexa for about 4 days, and the urinary problem did improve dramatically, but of course I begin to slide into dysthymia once again. I began taking the Celexa again at bedtimet--I had been taking it in the early AM but felt to tired during the day. I have been on Celexa for about 3 months. I started out taking it in the morning, but I would be so tired during the day that I could fall asleep standing up. Now I take it at bedtime but have the EXACT same problem with the bathroom. I wake up about every 2-3 hours and have to go to the bathroom so bad that it feels like I drank a gallon of water and haven't gone in days! I have a doctors appt on Monday to see what to do about it. I will let you know what she says about it. I started Celexa a month ago, 20 mg/day. I have noticed that recently their has been in increase in the frequency of urination and the feeling of fullness and a need to urinate when in fact the bladder is not full. I see my pdoc next week and am going to ask about it, also. I don't think so, but it's hard to say since I'm a compulsive overeater and I really struggle with my weight to begin with. But I don't feel the Celexa has caused any cravings or hunger that I didn't have before. I'm currently on a weight-loss plan averaging about 2100 calories a day and so far I seem to be relatively satisfied by the amount of food I'm eating.
