anyone have anything positive to say about this drug I just began taking?

Sorry, but I was given Effexor in ... (after a hellish two months on Prozac). It wasn't as bad as Prozac, but I was still so depressed and anxious that I literally shook all day. As I've said many times before, if someone has tried SSRIs and tricyclics but hasn't gotten any geniune relief from depression, the MAOIs often go where no drug's gone before. Being on effexor for nearly 6 months, I can say that it has made a difference. It took me a while to get accustomed to the dosage- about 2 weeks- My first side effects were feeling spaced out, sweating but that was about it. What effexor has done for me is to give me a sublime boost. I can describe it like an underlying drive and empowerment which keeps me going despite situations in my life. This is a very subtle empowerment. I'm still on effexor and plan to stay on it as long as my doctor thinks its a good idea. Effexor has been more helpful to me than not.
