Well, all of the AD's have stopped working (last one was Effexor) and now my doc wants me on Nardil as soon as I withdraw from Effexor. I read all of the restrictions and side effects and frankly, it is scary. He wants me to start on 15mg per day which as far as I can tell is not evern a theraputic dose. Oh well..if anyone has any ideas or suggestions for the depressed person, let me know.. One suggestion is not to be afraid of Nardil. Take sensible precautions with your food and over-the-counter medications, and you should be fine. It is more important to find a medication that works well for you. I am curious as to why he chose Nardil, of the several MAO inhibitors currently available. Did he have a particular reason? Also, if you don't mind, what other medications have you tried, and what did they do? You know, I am clueless as to why he chose Nordil. Most likely it is in part due to the availability for the VA, which provides my care. Regarding what I have tried, it started 20 years ago with Prozac and there have been so many after that, I lost track. The last one was effexor. All of them seemed to work for a year or two then they just stop working.
