I was wondering if a medicine i've been prescribed for anxiety at the moment is a good treatment, or are there other medicine which are more effective. How do you think is the best way to take this medicine. Its says three times a day when needed but i'm unsure because of the risk of getting addicted. Does this medication take some time to work or can you tell instantly if its working.
Answer:
Does anyone with anxiety and depression who also suffer from crohns or ulcerative colitis, also suffer from obsessional thoughts (a symptom of obsessional compulsive disorder but also common in anxiety and depression) and ideas e.g. bad thoughts that you can't get off your mind no matter how you try, i only found out about it recently, and was complete turmoil- guilt, fear of going crazy)a for 4 1/2 years until i found out many people suffer from this. This was such a turning point for me and i now know and believe i am recovering from both of these illnesses, ulcerative colitis, which i have suffered from 4 years without remission - i think because of the severe anxiety, and the depression and anxiety. I will never give up, and once i get better, i will help other people with all my heart! I was wondering what is the usual period and the dosage to be taking for diazepam(a benzo, also known as valium ). I am currently taking 2 mg in the morning and at night. I was wondering if this is an effective dose. I was prescribed to be takign 3 times a day when needed. However i won't be seeign the psychiatrist again until january and was worrying about taking this medication for far too long- side effects, addiction risk. I'm also taking lustral (setraline which is the same as zoloft i think) which has really boosted my mood, but hasn't done much for the anxiety or obsessions. I have been taking it for 7 weeks now. I was wondering how long it takes to work to get the full benefit. 50mg in the morning
